About Self Lock Nut (Nylock Nut)
A self lock nut (nylock nut) has a nylon ring inside the top. The ring grips the bolt thread so the nut does not loosen from vibration, without needing a spring washer or lock wire.
Where to use them
Motors, pumps, vehicles, fans, conveyors and any machine that shakes. We stock TVS self lock nuts along with MS, high-tensile and SS 304 versions, in DIN 985 (thin) and DIN 982 (regular height).
Nylon inserts are rated to about 120 °C. For hot areas such as exhausts, ask for all-metal lock nuts.

›Can a nylock nut be reused?
It can be reused a few times, but the nylon ring loses grip each time. For critical joints fit a new nut.
