About Coach Screw (Hex Head Wood Screw)
Coach screws (lag screws) are heavy wood screws with a hex head, driven with a spanner. They carry far more load than ordinary wood screws and are used on timber frames, beams and gates, and with wall plugs for heavy brackets.
