About SS 304 Stainless Steel Hex Bolt
SS 304 stainless steel hex bolts (also called A2 stainless bolts) are the go-to choice anywhere rust is a problem: outdoor structures, water lines, bathrooms, kitchens and food equipment. They are non-magnetic and keep a clean finish for years.
Why stainless steel
Zinc-plated bolts eventually rust once the coating wears off. Stainless steel is rust-resistant all the way through, so it lasts much longer outdoors and in wet areas. For coastal and chemical areas we can supply SS 316 (A4).
Sizes
M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M16, M20 and M24 in full and half thread. Use matching SS nuts and washers so that mixed metals don't corrode each other.

›Will SS 304 bolts rust?
SS 304 resists rust in normal outdoor and wet conditions. Near the sea or around chemicals, choose SS 316, which has better corrosion resistance.
›Is stainless steel as strong as high-tensile 8.8?
No. A2-70 stainless is roughly equal to grade 8.8 in tensile strength but lower in yield strength. For very high load joints, use high-tensile bolts; for rust resistance, use stainless.
